Our Professional Learning Suite offers you a window into a range of contemporary topics to stretch your thinking when working with children, families and colleagues. We have invited a panel of highly regarded experts to share their knowledge and skills to support you in being a more effective partner in teaching and learning within your early childhood setting.

The professional learning sessions are all self-paced, so I invite you to take your time to work through the content. You will need to set aside about an hour to engage with each topic (you may be enrolled in more than one), so please so do gift yourself a quite and comfortable space , have a note book ready and perhaps a pair of headphones if you are listening to a podcast or watching a webinar.

You are required to complete the assessment piece set by the panel member in order to receive a certificate of completion.

If you have any general questions, please reach out to Paris or of you have any content specific questions, please contact me.

I trust you will find the content interesting and worthy of your investment.

Kind regards,

Professor Deborah Harcourt

The Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Education is AEEI’s flagship program – a postgraduate qualification (AQF Level 8) designed to prepare graduates for professional roles in early childhood teaching and leadership. This course is ideal for those who hold a bachelor’s degree (in any field) and wish to transition into early childhood education or further specialise in this rewarding sector. The program’s objective is to equip you with advanced knowledge of early childhood pedagogy, child development, and educational leadership, combined with practical teaching skills. By the end of the course, you will be capable of designing inclusive curricula, leading in childcare settings, and fostering positive outcomes for children from birth to age 5. The course emphasises reflective practice, cultural competence, and innovative teaching strategies, ensuring you graduate as a confident, well-rounded early childhood professional.

This foundation unit is designed to familiarise students with the necessary academic reading and writing, research and study skills needed to effectively manage their tertiary learning effectively. This unit also covers time management, critical thinking, teamwork, effective reading, essay writing and oral presentation skills. Students will get many opportunities to apply these skills during the unit.

After completion of this unit, students will be able to conduct academic research in a database, use referencing systems and respond to assessment tasks.  This unit gives students a thorough grounding in the core academic writing and research skills required during their degree.
